HISTORY
The Brighton Children's Centre
incorporated as, the Brighton District Family Resource
Centre was
legally registered in April,
1999. In addition to running keep fit classes with free
child care and a family lunch program, the organization
started a preschool program in 2004. In the Spring of 2005 a
before & after school
program at Brighton Public School was added and in the Fall
of 2006 in cooperation with the Ontario Government's "Best
Start" initiative, the first licenced daycare in
Brighton became available.
CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION
In 2004 the Brighton Children's Centre applied for and received the
designation of a registered charity. The administration of
the Brighton Children's Centre is performed by a volunteer board of directors.
